Thruline is dedicated to the notion that good design and good building are complementary practices that inform, inspire, and support each other. Founded on a legacy of a fifth generation carpenter, contractor, and maker of spaces, Thruline works with high-performance design and building techniques that result in responsible, thoughtful, and impactful projects.
We are located in downtown Bozeman, MT and work regionally.
Lotus grew up in Montana and holds a BA in Studio Art from Reed College and a Masters in Architecture from UC Berkeley. Before studying architecture, she spent six years training under her Dad as a fifth generation builder, contractor, and woodworker. Her experience positions Thruline at the intersection of the expressiveness of art, the precision of design, and the constraints of construction. She considers environmental principles and sustainable practices to be a critical part of creating a renewable future and brings that perspective to her work. With deep respect for the skills and expertise of the entire design and building team, Lotus values working with diverse people and professions to create durable, responsible, beautiful buildings that contribute to the wellbeing of the people and communities they serve.
Suzanne has 12+ years of experience in the field of architecture and building. She holds a BA in Studio Art from Montana State University and a Masters in Architecture from the University of Tennessee. She lived in Tennessee for several years concentrating on commercial design and construction before moving back to Bozeman with her small family and focusing on the residential sector. Joining Thruline to implement sustainable practices in the built environment is an opportunity she's been working towards and is excited to pursue.
